Do you think these kinds of lights would be a distraction, or a safety device?

I personally could imagine as a driver or pedestrain, being slightly mesmerized by them after a rough day at work.

This would be great for the Pride Parade. :-)

I choose option #3. "a novelty."

If it's the same one I saw on Kickstarter (Monkey Light),  the leds are programmable.  I would opt for just the rear wheel setup (front would distract me, I think) and not set it up so the lights appear to rotate (minimizing the mesmerizing effect).  I think on their Kickstarter page they had some programmed to look like dogs running in your wheels.  Kind of cool.

Nice, but kind of distracting, too.  Not to mention potentially blinding, like the LED ad boards some buses were using last year.

More isn't always better when it comes to light at night.

Novelty is true, It's mostly for fun, but every time I pass the guy on the huge bike or the one that's really high, I know that my gawking factor could do some damage (I'm a klutz to begin with so worry about doing the same to others)

There are a bunch on sale on Fab.com http://fab.com/7u2mep including rainbow

appreciate the feedback, I think one on the back is a better idea!

Madeline?

Is that you?
