DePaul's new FixIt stand

After about a year of planning, presenting our case to the university, coordinating with facilities & operations, Cycle Collective got our FixIt stands. 

This is a great achievement for student bicycle advocacy for DePaul and hopefully this trend continues at DePaul and other Chicago schools. 

It is in the quad at Seminary between Belden and Fullerton. If you are familiar with DePaul, beside the bike parking between The Pit & the library's west entrance. 

All setup and ready for use by DePaulians and the community!

Very cool! I could use the air pump. I'm sure other bicyclists will be able to make good use of the tools.

Hopefully the cables are pretty thick to deter theft.

Wow, good stuff! I left my yellow Raleigh Sports out in front of Clifton Hall when I moved out of dorm. I wonder if it is still there...32 years later.

this is great! we're putting one in soon where I work, a college in the suburbs- can you message me to start a conversation about the barriers you had to overcome and the response after install thus far? Congrats!!

I can see this being very useful inside bike storage.  I personally think this will be very helpful to students at Roosevelt University in the new bike storage and at our apartment building.

Yes, there are 2. The other one is by McCabe hall, a dorm. It's where the university's locked up, need a swipe card to get in & monthly fee to use, secure bike parking is. Closest intersection is Belden and Fremont.

And there has been one on the Fox River trail in South Elgin at least since last summer. 

But yeah, cool! Thanks DePaul! Good work!

These are awesome.  Besides DePaul and the Whole Foods on Canal, are there others in the city?

There's one at the Whole Foods on Kingbury, right next to the bike corral that holds 50+ bikes and is always chock full of bikes.
