Does anyone have any experience with these? Good, bad?
I've seen these come up on various deal sites before and have thought about purchasing a set.

don't believe the waterproof claim. I had these and it was constantly failing during and after a rain. Even after I taped up all the seams

I've ridden through plenty of rain and haven't had any trouble with it being waterproof. Mine is strapped at the top of a seatstay, so I think being under the seat and my butt keeps it dry, but you could tuck it into a bag under the seat if you're really worried. You do want to be careful about winding it around both the tube and the cable cause it can bend and get cracked at that point. I think I busted mine putting it on my bike rack a few times.

We've had a lot of fun with these, and haven't had any problem with water-proofing. Note that they made a change recently to improve the water-proofing.
But we haven't found them to be very durable. I think we have 4 or 5, and I don't think any of them have survived a year. One the wire pulled out, so that the connection was lost between the LED wire and the battery case. Two got snagged on something and snapped / tore. One has a kink, and only flashes up to that point, about 1/3 of the way down the length. I think the one on the bike that my son outgrew earlier this spring is still fully functional, but I'm not sure.
I don't know. Maybe we're too rough on stuff. But even for the half price we paid, I am disappointed in the lifespan, and would not buy them again.
