Cyclists (Literally) Blown Off Their Bikes

During stage three race organizers ended up having to cancel the race because the cyclists were getting blown off their bikes in the wind.

More than a couple times I've hit a wind tunnel or sheer, the way it hits a building...Clark@ Lincoln park west, Pine Grove@Irving park, Halsted@Grace, Broadway@Devon to name a few.

Currently at 4pm, west winds are gusting up to a powerful 'punching' 62 MPH !

I did the lakefront @7 and except for a few patches it really wasn't that windy.  Seems like the lakefront was much less windy than the rest of the North side.

The worst of the high winds occurred from around noon and progressed in intensity just before sunset then dropped down considerably at dark. The lakefront was extremely windy at that time where gusts hit around 60mph where the top gusts were 73mph at the Harrison-Dever Crib and 72mph at Douglas Park.
