cyclist found in middle of street on Damen & Winnemac -are you ok?

You were riding north on Damen on Monday morning around 8, you crashed or something and we found you in them middle of the road. I was the other cyclist who took your keys and locked up your bike when the ambulance got there. Are you ok?

I know the guy who was down. He is OK now. I've told him of this thread and asked him to give you an update when he can.
Thanks for letting me know he's ok, I'm just relieved to hear it.
Thanks for stickying it up too.
First off, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you for picking me up off of the road. I don't know how long I had been there, but who knows what could have happened had I been in the street much longer. So, Thank you very, very much. I don't know what caused the wreck, so I am wondering if you happened to see any of the actual accident, or if anyone else was present at the scene? The only thing I remember is that I was on my way to work at the Coffee Studio, vaguely a red-shirted cyclist(you) helping me, and then fully coming to in the emergency room. Any information would be helpful; all I can deduce from the damage to my bike and person, is that I hit a car door causing me to go endo. Once again, thank you so much for stopping to help me, you are a kind and true person.
So glad you're ok! and yep, that was me in the red shirt.

There were two pedistrians on the street with you when I arrived. One of them called the police. Neither of them saw the impact either. There were a number of cars parked along Damen, so you could have been doored, but no one hung around or `fessed up. I wondered if it was a mechanical problem that tossed you over the handlebars, because your chain was jammed when I lifted the bike to lock it up (or that could have been from impact). The cops came pretty quickly, one of them actually asked if you'd been drinking and I barked at him for that.

Interestingly enough, I was riding to a chainlink meet-up ride.

Your shoulder position looked a little 'unnatural' did it dislocate?
Acromioclavicular dislocation, or dislocated collarbone with a concussion to boot. My fork got bent in the process, so I think there was some sort of front impact that caused the wreck. But then again, your guess is as good as mine. Drinking eh? I do like beer, just not for breakfast, thanks CAPS. Anyway, you should swing by the Coffee Studio sometime soon for a drink, I'd really like to thank you in person, and I should be easy to spot(I will be the guy at the register with a sling.) Thanks again!

Hey William; I live around there. To be exact, actually closer to your work. I know that they have police camera's at Foster & Damen. They can zoom in all the way for 3-4 blks long. I think if you go to the 18th Dist. on Lincoln ave. They might be able to help you as far if a car doored you hit you ,etc. I'd bring your report if a police & hospital paperwork you have. If you don't get anywere with them hit me a e-mail. I'll give you my phone # and we can talk. I know are Alderman I do work for me. He's a big bike rider. I also can stop by your work & we could talk more. Good- Luck Tony
