This seems a bit more viable than the bike. Though I wonder what's next. Locks? Lights? Panniers?

Sounds interesting.

But ultimately whether it will be a success comes down to price point, fit, and durability.

And to quote "Vince" from those infomercials.....

"It's made in Germany, and you know those guys make good stuff !"

LOL !!!

Magic hats can be made out of just about anything as long as people keep believing they are magic.

Disposable beer coolers, cardboard, recycled milk jugs,  whatever...

So is your logic here that a helmet, or 'magic hat' as you like to say, does nothing to prevent a severe head injury in the event of a crash where one's head hits the pavement?

Definitely an interesting concept, but it appears to have zero ventilation as far as I could tell from the videos. I'm not buying one until they have some real ventilation, and by "real" I mean something more than the ridiculously tiny token air vents that end up on pretty much all of the skater-style "city helmets." Also, it may help cushion a lot better, but it still won't prevent concussions. You can cushion the head but it's still the high-g stopping force of a wreck that causes your brain to smack the inside of your cranium causing a concussion. Get hit hard enough to damage your helmet and you're still going to be at risk for a concussion. This design might lessen that, but it won't eliminate it.
