Bike Stripping/Painting
I'm looking for a place to get my frame sandblasted and painted at a reasonable price. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also know anywhere to get good decals?

What kind of decals?
Checkerboard decals. I just need black on clear so i can put it over my bike after i paint it

i would like to know about decals as well. any place with a computerized vinyl cutter should work.

Ahhhh......this is sooo tough. Top notch is Noah Rosen of Velocolor in Toronto.... I would otherwise recommend finding a nice shady back yard, a ventilator mask, some marine stripper, tough chemical proof gloves, protective clothing, and a lot of elbow grease - no smoking! A good coat of paint is accomplished with a cardboard paint booth in your garage or that of a friend. Use wet automotive sanding to get that slippery smooth bling you're looking for. Light coats, my friend, light coats.....build it up and give it "depth". Patience is key.
Contact the factory that made your bike if it's a recent model - Trek paints bikes and so does Marinoni.

yeah i think this is going to be the best way to go unless i find a place. It's an old raliegh so i doubt the company will paint it. I found one place who said they'll do it for 100-150 depending on color and that looks cheapest next to doing it myself

Aaron at Surface Tech. Good guy, does good work and decent prices. Pretty quick turnaround right now, but I'm sure that's gonna change once the weather gets nice. He does pretty basic work, no masking or letters. I just got my third frame done there and looks great.

Andrew, feel free to call me at 773 425 2011. You can look at some of my powder coating work on my photos page. I charge $199 for frame and fork. This includes stripping, sandblasting, chemical preparation and powder coating. As well as complimentary removal and instillation of headset and bottom bracket, along with the facing of 1" head tubes and chasing and facing of ISO/English bottom brackets.

haha i have a bag from home depot with all the supplies to diy--
paint stripper, a stripping tool, primer, fine steel wool etc.
Was gonna repaint a (now ex) gf's bike for her; we parted ways and now i have all this stuff. also, sparkly green paint.

I had a frame and crankset powercoated at Coating Specialties. They did a media blast, acid dip, and the coat for $90. The work was top notch, some of the best powdercoating I have seen on a bike frame. I was impressed thet they even knew how to handle a two piece crankset. The downside is that they are on the edge of the known world, in South Chicago Heights- the most depressing place I could ever imagine. They can be reached at 708-754-3311. (ask for Bob)

i had Aaron at Surface Tech. do mine too, but i don't know if i'd recommend him. he is a nice guy, but my bike was about a week late after he pushed off my frame for a larger project that paid more.
beyond that, i think one of the best things going for him is his enthusiasm around doing a custom color for a reasonable price (120). he had some samples laying around that gave me enough to go off, but i'm pretty sure he'd never done a purple/sparkle coat before.
the color came out reasonably well, but there was a slight difference between the fork and frame. it's pretty noticeable in bright sun, but not so much in the shade. very subtle difference.
also, now that i've been using it a year, it's starting to chip around the headtube where it meets the headset. i don't know if this is the fault of aaron or the guys that helped me chase/fase the headtube, but it sucks :(
i also noticed just recently that he never drilled out the drain in the BB. another small detail that matters
