Permalink Reply by Kate G. on September 13, 2009 at 8:01pm I was reassured today that there's almost no chance it'll show up - if someone is willing to saw through a U-lock they're not gonna share, except with someone who's not me. Suffice to say I'm hoping homeowner's is going to cover it, else it's back to old faithful... and maybe a new, stripped down fixie.

While every home owners insurance is different, ours only covers bikes that are stolen from a locked area on our property (which makes it burglary, I believe). When I inquired to add our bikes to the insurance, I was quoted a premium that amounted to 20% of the replacement cost of the bikes. I didn't think it was worth it.
