Heard this on the news last night, news item is here: http://bit.ly/T4rkHM. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

But in a complex business like law, attention to details inspires confidence. Lack of attention to something so noticable stands out. So sue me. The attorney stands to make money off this accident. He should at least be a good writer if he's posting about it.

You do realize it was a simple typographical error? I fixed it. Let's move on.
Permalink Reply by Anne Alt on November 23, 2012 at 6:12am I hope that your client is able to return to a good quality of life. My wish is that appropriate medical treatment and thorough healing will get her to a point where she doesn't have daily pain or activity limitations due to her injuries.

Permalink Reply by kiltedcelt on November 25, 2012 at 10:46pm Bill, I think you mean "troll" as in a foul creature that lives under a bridge and tries to extort a toll from people passing over, or in the case of our modern internet age, someone who makes a big deal out of nothing or attempts to "shit-stir" in order to get a rise out of people. Then again, it was a post by DUG who seems to be a bit of a shit-stirrer from time to time. After all the post was about a cyclist getting doored by a cop. We should be a lot more concerned about the issue of how a police officer can door someone on a bicycle when they're the ones who should know better than anyone else. Instead, we've got a bunch of people nitpicking typographical errors from a cycling attorney with a proven track record on defending cyclist's rights in cases like this. Sheesh! Can we get the effing priorities straight here?!

I filed the lawsuit yesterday in the Circuit Court of Cook County - Law Division. Here's a link to the posts on it at IllinoisBicycleLaw.com. I look forward to prosecuting this case to the fullest extent of the law. Taylor Street at that point has a dedicated bike lane and is a common route for bicyclists at UIC and the medical district. The fact that it was a cop (who we believe to be a sergeant) who doored the bicyclist makes this particularly egregious.
