The Chainlink

My friend Tim Parsons had his rare Donky cargo bike stolen two months ago, and has listed it on the stolen bike register, contacted the police, and put out a Facebook APB on the theft.

And he's not heard of a sighting of the bike.....Until now.

In a weird twist of fate, the bike can be seen on surveillance video at the scene of a recent meat burglary that happened on Devon Ave:

Quite likely the meat lifter is also the Donky wrangler.
This bike is a recent design from London, and Tim's is probably the only one in Chicago.

If you see it call 311 or the 24th District (312 744 5907) and ask for detective Kathleen Hayes, or call Tim: 773 837 9318

THANKS!

311 will just transfer to you to 911. Best to call 911 directly so's not to end up on hold, and tie up both resources.

Police report number is here:

(Google "stolen donky bike" to get it in a hurry.)

I second that!

Why would you steal marinated meat? you have to cook it soon.  Anyway, I'll keep an eye out.

Because 600 lbs of marinated meat makes for a better insurance claim than 80 lbs of ground chuck.

It could be he stole 80lbs or so of ground chuck, but the rest of the meat had to be tossed from potential contamination.  Laws over how food is handled are pretty strict, and when you have a robber rummaging around, you don't know what he does with it.

Thanks, Chi & Jonathan! I like trying my hand at crafty wordsmithing, but often fall flat.

The meat issue really wasn't the point here, it's much more about my friend's stolen bike. This isn't the Steaklink, afterall...

I understand, but it is pretty bizarre.  It is a pretty unique bike, hopefully someone will spot it.

The initial news reports said he stole 600 lbs of meat.
