Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid.

Nothing we didn't already know, but this poll quantifies just how irresponsible American drivers are. Driving is by far the most dangerous thing (both for ourselves and others) that most of us do. And yet, so few take it seriously.

I counted 5 different cars at lights texting or doing something on their phone just this morning. Going home, since there is a lot more traffic, the people texting is attrocious and scary since some of the lanes I pedal down are very narrow and cars will randomly change lanes to get 5' further ahead of where they were originally. And that is only a 4.3 mile one way trip too.

Cyclommuting has REALLY increased my appreciation for distracted driving laws that I originally thought were stupid when I was a driver only. Still sad that people do it and that it still leads to people getting hurt.
