I am starting to really like really fat tires. I have a 92 Trek 930 MTB (26er) that is now totally customized for around town and I am looking for some "fatties". Suggestions? Who loves them! Photos?

I've got a pugsley(4.0") and it's a bunch of fun to ride. I know Comrade has a Pugsley SS that they're trying to get rid of. Yesterday I picked up my new bike and it's got 29x1.9(700x47)tires. Those are getting put on the shelf after this weekend. I've already got some 700x32s that are going to make the ride much smoother...

fat biking in the city!

Maxxis Hookworms are my personal fave for 26" street tires.  They're a bit on the heavy side, but they grip well in most weather and hold up reliably.

I am currently running Hookworms and Big Apples on two bikes.  I think the Big Apples (2.35) are amazing.  I can ride almost as fast as some skinnies on them and they handle great on mixed terrain.  The Hookworms are a load of fun but heavy.

Here is a Surly Troll I built for my wife with Big Apples.  Its a 14" frame which makes them look even bigger.  I think they might be my favorite tire ever.

Nice looking bike!

I think now I'm leaning towards getting the Big Apples. I was sort of liking Fat Franks for looks (and the price) anyone tried those?

Actually now I'm thinking my next build will be a Surly Karate Monkey with Salsa Wood Chipper handle bars and Big Apple tires.......

I have Fat Franks also.  I used them on my commuter for a while.  They are nice and very similar to the Big Apples.  Not quite as fast, but pretty close.  I have them in brown, which is also very cool.

Go with the KM, Woodchippers, and Big Apples.  Throw in a bar end friction shifter and you will maybe have your favorite bike of all time.  Go anywhere, go fast, fun as all get out.

I'm getting exited, I think I'm gonna go for it!

I did it. Went with the SRAM rival shifter/brake on the right and matching CX style brake lever on the left. I had to use a really short stem as the drops add extra length. I initially tried the SOMA Junebug handlebars but I did not like them. I was almost ready to go with some compact road bars but I got some Woodchipper 2 bars from a guy at work who took them off his Fargo. The are perfect.

That looks awesome! It is tough to run drops on a frame like this with the exceptionally long top tubes. The Fargo is purpose built and as such has a proper seat tube/top tube combo compared to the KM. I recommend running a high rise stem with the Woodchippers. It makes setup much easier, especially if you don't have a lot of steerer.
