Our second tour is Sunday September 26, 2010 with a Tour of Logan Square. Literally two people came out to the first time I ran this, though we did have a much better showing as a winter ride in December of 2008. This version has nearly 7 new miles in the route and is much more thorough.

Logan Square, Community Area no. 22 is located 5 miles from the loop on Chicago’s near Northwest side, Logan Square is a densely populated microcosm of Chicago. Just as it is home to exquisite mansions along its historic boulevards, its side-streets are lined with simple workers’ homes and 2-flats. It is host to homey dive bars and haute cuisine hot spots. A particularly funky strip of Milwaukee forms its main commercial district, immediately adjacent to its quiet tree-lined residential streets. Exhibiting a wide variety of styles and a host of wonderful examples, it is also an architectural treasure trove. The exquisite section of Boulevards in Logan Square are indeed brimming with brilliant architecture, but so too are the side streets and commercial thoroughfares.

Fees range from $0 to $30 and season passes are available as well.

I sure would! If you can't make it to the monument just before 1:00, let me know how to get them from you! THanks!

Lee--do you want me to swing by before the ride with some Bike Winter stickers and ear gaitors?

Lovely fall day to tool around Logan Square. Temp at ride time should be just about 60 degrees and partly sunny. Perfect day to pedal! Looking forward to seeing everyone. Yay bike fall!

Thang and I did the pre-ride on Wednesday. Made a couple of modifications to the map, which has been updated, but all looks pretty good, a few rough patches of road aside....but hey, it's Chicago! 7 more miles than previous Logan Square tour and lots of new stuff plus all the original stops and points as well.

Hope to see some of you out there.....Cheers - Lee
