The Green Ride 2010

The Green Ride: 2010, a bicycle tour of environmentally friendly sites in the 19th Ward’s Mount Greenwood and Beverly Hills/Morgan Park neighborhoods, will be held Sun., July 11, 9 a.m. rain or shine. Leaving from Ridge Park, 96th and Longwood Drive, the event kicks off with Get Ready to Ride bike maintenance and safety workshop followed by the tour of green and sustainable sites at 10 a.m.
After the ride, participants will return to the park to socialize talk to some the tour sponsors and see what is available to citizens for promoting green initiatives and sustainable living in Chicago. Registration is $10 and includes a T-shirt.
The guided bike tour is limited to 35 registered adult riders, and will include stops at select neighborhood sites to hear brief presentations about local sustainability initiatives. It will include biking on city streets in traffic and at a pace that is not appropriate for young children.
