Description

The Cannonsburg Double Trouble is the best of both worlds with single track and gravel roads in one race! This event will put your technical skills and your horse power to the test as you challenge yourself with 32 miles of twisty / flowy single track and the rolling hills of Kent County’s best gravel roads.

The start of the race will begin with a mass start at Cannonsburg Ski Area and travel North on roads to the private single track of Pando Ski area and Camp Rogers (approx. 5 miles). You’ll do a lap at Pando and head East and South to the gravel roads of Lowell and Ada before finishing with more single track at Cannonsburg Ski Area (approx. 5 miles).

Jr. Racers: Youth 18 and under race for $25

Registration Closes: 8/29 at 11:59 PM EST

Day of Registration: There is NO day of registration

Race Start: The race will start at 10 AM with one mass start wave. ( This may change if the field is too large). *Subsequent race years starting positions will be seeded based on your previous year finishing time.

Follow Rules of the Road: Portions of the course will take place on public roads open to vehicle traffic. We will have volunteers and sheriff positioned on key intersections directing auto and racer traffic. For your safety, please follow their directions.

Race Course Route: The race course map will be communicated in the Spring. The route is open to pre-riding with the exception of the single track at Pando and Camp Rogers. These two properties are private and closed to public use except for the race.

Race Course Pre-Ride: The race course will be marked and open to pre-riding late in the day on 9/1. This includes the trails at Pando and Camp Rogers.

Race Delay or Cancellation: In the event of severe weather, unsafe race conditions or an emergency, the race promoters may delay or ultimately cancel the event. There are no refunds.

Team Tents: Teams are welcome to set up tents along the finish race chute. No reservations or fees are required.

After-Party: Cannonsburg will be hosting the after party with food, beverages and Founders beer being served from 11 AM – 7 PM

Awards: The awards ceremony will begin around 1 PM. The top 3 finishers in each age category will receive medals. Additionally, the winner of each age group will receive a complimentary race entry to the following year’s Double Trouble event. A sponsor’s swag raffle will take place before race day and all winners can pick up their prize at packet pick-up.

Merchandise: Double Trouble merchandise can be pre-ordered on Bikereg 11/22/16 – 8/18/17. We will have limited items and sizes for sale on race day.

Official Timing: The race will be chip timed by Newton Timing. Racers will have 30 minutes upon completion of the race to dispute any results.

Lodging: There are a number of hotels in Grand Rapids and Belmont that are close to Cannonsburg Ski area.
There is also local camping. Both are about a 15 minute drive from Cannonsburg;
