Description

No, this isn't about being entirely ready to have God remove all defects of character.

It's about trying to ride to Three Floyds every month this year. Now there's a consistent schedule -- the 4th Saturday of every month -- others have opportunities to lead (I can't make it every time), and you can qualify for the F-12 Award.

The ride takes the lakefront trail south from the Clock Tower. You can join up anywhere along the trail. Just let the group know where so they can look for you.

45 miles total if you take the Metra back, 70 if you ride both ways. 16-20 mph. I like to get there before they open at noon (it's the third-best brewery in the world, so sometimes there's a line). Bring money, government-issued ID, a lock, water and snacks to have en route, and panniers for beer you can't get in Chicago.

Online resources: Google map, cue sheet, Metra schedule, Metra rules, and, to save a minute at the start, the nifty online CCC waiver.

Bob, I somehow missed this comment last time around - we got dropped on the path, behind some tourists near the river and then huge walking group in the loop. We weren't quick enough with the cues to catch up, but we eventually got there about 45 min after the rest of you!

We didn't catch the most recent ride, but I'm hoping to join for the August one!

Updating my original comment, since I lost a coworker who has to show his apt all day. Anna and I will meet you at the clocktower at 9am!

My back derailleur and hanger broke. I think the sadness of the situation calls a crappy (and cheap!) beer.

bummer is right! and what happened to your bike? you sure you can't do better than a highlife?

Well got called to go to work... major bummer. Hope you all have fun and drink lots of beers for me. I will be crying in my highlife after work to mourn the injury of my bike and the missed opportunity to ride to 3F on a single speed.

So my bike will be in the shop for a while, but I do have my single speed. Should I try to ride with you guys or just go next month?

I'll be at 31rst street, just off the trail (east side) at 9:45. Same place as last.

Planning on joining this ride at the clocktower, and bringing 2 coworkers!
