Join dozens of besotted Santas as we tour the central shopping district of of our great city, spreading holiday fear, I mean cheer. This ride is a long standing and proud tradition. OK, some have called it shameful, but either way, at least it's long standing, so no half-a$$ed costumes will be tolerated. Full Santa regalia is strictly enforced, though Grinches and Elves may be grudgingly allowed. There are rumors that someone in a Grinch costume survived the ride once. There are also rampant allegations of Elf abuse, that I can neither confirm, nor deny at this time. Wear what you dare, but you have been warned.
Also beware of a fringe group of riders calling themselves "Dreidels" that have appeared in years past, with the goal of co-opting, or even commandeering our ride. Their costumes may seem laughable, but their tactics are sinister, and they are not to be underestimated.

Comment by CZ 8.0 on December 20, 2010 at 4:11pm That's a drag, Garth. I was parked on the west side and didn't have any problems.

Thanks to everyone I met! What a wonderful group of people and a ridiculously enjoyable time.
Comment by globalguy on December 20, 2010 at 11:06am Thanks to you both. I was on the south-side of the street as well. It looks like someone took a ball-peen hammer to my rim all in one shot and bent the rim 20 degrees or so.
What a drag that your bike was messed with, Garth! Maybe we should chip in to get it fixed.
Thanks, y'all, for a great silly event -- and for making us newbies feel welcome. The plethora of Santas -- with two wonderful dreidels in their midst -- couldn't help but remind me of this video. It cracks me up -- rolling on the floor crying, spitting out my herbal tea in bursts of laughter. But my co-workers who didn't grow up jewish don't seem to get it... so my apologies to any gentiles out there.

Comment by Kevin C on December 20, 2010 at 9:30am Where were you parked Garth? I was on the south side of the street and didn't notice anything. It was a great time.
Comment by globalguy on December 20, 2010 at 8:45am Did anyone who made it to The Billy Goat experience any vandalism of their bikes? Since Erin picked me up with her car I didn't notice until yesterday that someone or "thing" had dented my front wheel, bending it into uselessness. Other than that, I had a great time!!!
