My Chainlink "focus group" expressed interest in visiting the Crown Brewing in the neighboring state of Indiana. So, here it is . . .
We will meet at the Buckingham Fountain at 8:30 in the morning and depart no later than 8:51. Will ride just like to Pierogi Fest or the Three Floyds, but take the Burnham Greenway all the way, then cross to the Erie Lackawanna Trail and follow it almost to our destination. It is aboutt 40 miles one way. The brewery opens at 11 a.m., we should arrive, at leisurely pace, by 1 p.m.
They sell beer to go on Sundays (just sayin' :).
Here is the route.
If anyone wants to join us somewhere between the Fountain and the Crown, fine. Just let me know.
. . . And feel free to invite friends!

Comment by Serge Lubomudrov on September 17, 2012 at 1:21pm It's very nice and mostly straight (as it follows an old railroad). The only place where you need to pay attention, is here, where the trail crosses I-80/94 and then the Little Calumet River. It's especially tricky on the way back: the turn left at Grand Blvd is easy to miss (that's how we ended up looping around the Optimist Park). There's also that unfinished, though passable, underpass at the Indianapolis & Grand Blvds.
Anyways, you might want to ask fellow members of our "Focused Group," so that you will not ride alone.

Comment by Serge Lubomudrov on September 4, 2012 at 2:58pm Have you seen this discussion, Yvonne?
I'm down for any group ride as long as it doesn't pour.

Comment by Serge Lubomudrov on September 3, 2012 at 12:34pm The thing is, I don't want another 100 miles ride before the Marathon.
