Description

A Bike Winter tradition! Ride 95 miles to Milwaukee and stay overnight with our Badger hosts. Ride home in the morning. This year will (probably) feature the debut of Greenfield's Map to Milwaukee, a detailed route guide showing on- and off-road options, sights and services along the way. The ride starts at Hollywood Grill (1601 W. North). Show up at 7 a.m. if you want breakfast. We will depart at 8 a.m. SHARP! It's an unsupported ride; ride at your own pace. We will meet up at the end of the day at a bar and grill in Milwaukee T.B.D., then crash at Dave. S.'s home. It's helpful if you can BYO sleeping bag and ground pad. RSVP to John Greenfield at greenfieldjohn AT hotmail DOT com.

No serious injuries (just Alfredo's finger), no flats or major mechanical failures (except Alfredo's bottom bracket) — in general, I think it was a great time!

Great ride everyone - I hope we can ride again!

Sure thing. All told, about 20 people participated at various stages and three of us (Rubani, Tyler and I) finished the whole thing. We had a nice tailwind today and averaged 2 mph faster than yesterday (which wasn't that slow, despite a mild headwind). We took a slightly more direct inland route, 94 miles from Dave's house to Revolution Brewing. All-in-all, another great FSC.

Snottily yours,

John Greenfield

I kow how that is Amber! I looked outside and there is snow on the ground. I know in Evanston it takes days for them to really clear the snow. On the worest snow days Chicago is really good! I am probably going with the studds this morning. I'll be a little slower but safer. Triathlon season is right around the corner. See u guys at breakfast.

I have studded on a single speed. but, I've slid out on ice twice this year on the same knee and it hurts.
