Folks on Spokes meeting featuring Alex Wilson, the Executive Director of West Town Bikes

The speaker for the September meeting of Folks on Spokes will be Alex Wilson, the Executive Director of West Town Bikes (WTB). The goals of West Town Bikes are promoting bicycling in the City of Chicago, educating youth with a focus on under-served populations, and fostering and serving Chicago's growing bicycling community. With headquarters and a workspace in Chicago's West Town neighborhood, WTB has become the premier provider of youth bicycle programs in Chicago. (They even have a Girls Bike Club!) In addition to directing programs focusing on mechanics, racing, art, and advocacy, Alex is one of the best bike mechanics Cezar knows. (Club President Cezar Jenkins has also worked with WTB.)

Come to this interesting program to learn how WTB transforms the lives of young people by bringing bicycles into their lives! You may also get some tips on maintenance of your own bike.

The September meeting will be Thursday September 25 beginning at 7:30 pm at Flossmoor Village Hall, 2800 Flossmoor Road.
