Firkin Post Inauguration Century!

Join me on a ride to Firkin in Libertyville. Grab lunch there and ride to Lake Bluff to take the Metra back home.

If you're so inclined, we can ride back and make it almost a century, depending on where you end up.

The ride to Firkin and Lake Bluff is roughly about 48.3 miles.

Our starting point is Beans and Bagels on Leland Ave and Rockwell Street between 8:45 and 9:00 am.

Precisely at 9:30 We will meander our way west to the North Branch Trail going north. Once we get to Morton Grove, we'll head west again to get to DPRT and north all the way up to Libertyville.

DPRT might be a bit soft, so plan accordingly with tires and mud guards.

After lunch at Firkin, we'll head east to Lake Bluff. From there, you have several options:

1. Hang out at Lake Bluff Brewing to wait for the next Metra train to ride back

or 2. Ride back with me to get close to a century.

NOTE:  Bring snacks, water, extra tubes, pump/co2, cash, and your sense of adventure. Dress accordingly. We will have the wind on our back heading north.

This is not a race nor a speed contest, but you are expected to be an able and fit rider who can ride for at least 50 miles. We will make one or two stops along the way to rest.

If you're wanting speed approximate, let's just say we'll probably be averaging about 14mph.
