Join us this November for a day that's one-part food drive, one-part scavenger hunt, and all parts an adventure to combat food insecurity in Chicago.
One food item at a time, you and your friends can explore the city, feed the hungry and win cool prizes at Cranksgiving by bike, foot or CTA. We're partnering with Lakeview Pantry (http://www.lakeviewpantry.org/) to help bring food and other essential items to those who need it.
We'll send you out with a list of suggested donations and a map of grocery stores in the Lakeview area. You'll spend up to $30 and collect as much food from as many places on the map as you can between noon to 3 p.m.
You can join in on a team or fly solo, the biggest rule is that you have to get around using active transportation options -- no cars!
Registration for the ride will began at noon at Heritage Bicycles on Lincoln Ave. At registration, you can pick up the donation list, a map and get tips on the fastest routes to take around town.
We'll all meet at the food pantry 3pm to collect the food before heading over to the after party.
