Come join us for the new Southside / Hyde Park Chicago Kidical Mass, the last Sunday of every month, at Harold Washington Park in Hyde Park. The next one will be on Sunday, June 24. We'll meet at 10:30, head out at 11. Kids on their own bikes, kids on their parents' bikes, kid-friendly bikers of all ages -- all are welcome!
If you want to join from points north, it's a nice ride down the lakefront trail and over the 51st street bridge.
We'll post more about the route as it gets closer.

We have a route for this Sunday's ride!
http://goo.gl/maps/bqDc
We'll go south along Lakeshore Drive, west along the northern edge of Jackson Park, north on Cornell, west on 51st under the viaduct to Blackstone, north on Blackstone to the Blackstone Public Library, south on Dorchester past Kenwood Park, west on 50th to Greenwood, for a glimpse of Obama's house and the secret service, north on Greenwood to 49th, then back east on 49th to Kenwood Park.
There are playgrounds at Kenwood Park and a water feature, and the kids can play after the ride. It will be about lunch time, so consider bringing a picnic.

Comment by Elizabeth on June 19, 2012 at 9:16pm I hadn't! But I googled it, and submitted an announcement this evening. It has to get passed through the moderator, so I'm not sure when it will post.
Tentative destination for this Sunday's ride is Kenwood Park, near the Blackstone Public Library between 49th and 50th. If memory serves, they have a water feature, and we can highlight the library and maybe also Obama's house. I'll post a route after I've done a test run.

Comment by Elizabeth on May 30, 2012 at 10:07am If there are any destinations you'd love to see us pass along the way, please make suggestions! Schools, Libraries, playgrounds, community centers ... If you suggest something, we'll try to build a route that incorporates it.
