Description

Buckle up kids! It's time to check out BuckleDown Brewing in Lyons.

We'll take the 8:30am Rock Island Metra out to Joliet. From there we'll take the I&M Canal and Centennial Trails with our first stop for lunch at the Tap House Grill in Lemont which has an excellent beer list. Stop at Imperial Oak for their grand opening. Then it's on to BuckleDown Brewing in Lyons.

If you've had enough then it's a short 1.5 miles to the Brookfield Metra Station. Or if you're itching for more then it's 16 additional miles to Revolution's Tap Room on Kedzie or just ride all the way home.

Route to Buckledown

BuckleDown to Revolution Tap Room (route to Revolution is approximate - actual route will have some minor deviations however we will ride past the Riverside Metra station on BNSF line for those taking Metra home)

As always please bring:

-water

-layers

-lock

-bungee for Metra

-extra tube and tools to fix a flat

Minimum average speed is 12 mph

This ride is approximately 50% trail and 50% public streets. Please consume responsibly as this ride will be mixed with vehicular traffic on some portions.

That wouldn't be too far out of the way going home from Buckledown but if they're not pouring then it wouldn't be worth it in my opinion. All I'm seeing on their website are sad empty growlers instead of happy ones full of beer!

Either way thanks for your efforts to get us sneak peeks!

Here's a loose schedule:

10am - leave Joliet

11am - arrive at Tap House Grill

12:15pm - leave Tap House

1pm - arrive at Imperial Oak

2pm - leave Imperial Oak

2:45pm - arrive at Buckledown

Assuming everything is on time we wouldn't leave Buckledown until after 4. I wouldn't commit to getting to Slapshot prior to 5.

Cool! I added it as a stop on the route.

Flesk has good beer. I like their running man milk stout.

You don't happen to have an "in" at Flesk, do you?

Is Slapshot open to the public, or is this a Serge-only invite?

High tolerance and a strong liver is a must! Hope you can make it out!

So 2 stops minimum with a potential of 4 more.  I think this needs to be a tricycle ride so don't all fall over later in the day.

You read my mind Serge! I had already updated the event to include those 3 plus Lagunitas as potential stops if they're open.
