Carl, Kevin, and Henry present the results of their class in which student teams develop urban-bicycle-specific concepts.

12:00 PM: Bike Winter Basics
Martin Hazard and Lauren Sailor, Chicago Bike Winter Co-Chairs
Martin and Lauren will discuss and demonstrate techniques for extending your biking through the winter.

12:45 PM: Local Frame builders: Hand Built Bicycle Frames
Jason Kim, Psycle Werks
Michael Catano, Humble Frameworks
Owen Lloyd, Lloyd Cycles
Local frame builders will showcase hand built bicycle frames and to talk about several topics specific to frame building.

1:15 PM: A Presentation on the Painting of Bicycles: Preparation,Paint, and Technique
Yuval “UV” Awazu, UV Metal Arts and Powder Coating
UV is a local professional bicycle powder coating specialist. This discussion will include: how to properly strip your bike, how to prepare your bike for painting, and the benefits and disadvantages of various paint products.

Rob will bring us up to date on the latest developments in Chicago bike planning and infrastructure.

3:30 PM: Folding Bikes
Garry Low, Folding Bike Commuter
Kathy Schubert, Chicago Cycling Club co-founder
Garry and Kathy will demonstrate various folding bicycles and discuss the advantages and trade-offs for each type.
