Description

Join us for a ride to the southwest suburbs. We will be leaving the fountain in Wicker Park at 9am and ride 32 miles on through Riverside and Brookfield and onto the I&M Canal trail to Lemont where we will be visiting the Polyanna Brewery, get a tour and sample some of their beers.
We will then continue approximately 20 miles to Hailstorm Brewing in Tinley Park. This second part sees some significant hills in the first 5-7 miles. Almost all 20 miles are on residential suburban roads and trails
From there we have a few choices: We can ride another 9 miles to Flossmoor station and have a few more beers there, before we take the Metra electric back to Chicago, or we can ride 1.3 mile to the Tinley/80th station on the Rock Island District, from where we take the train back to Chicago.

As always please bring: Water, layers, a lock, a bungee cord for Metra, and a flat repaiir kit

Thanks for working out the Lemont/Tinley route, so many bad choices avoided.

Yes it was a great ride. Nice hanging out. The club afterwords wasn't to bad.

Talking about the weather.

Low 50s at the start going up to mid 60s makes for some ideal riding weather. We will be fighting the wind on the first segment, but on segment 2 and 3, the wind should be in the back.

See you all tomorrow at 9 promptly.

Cool, yea i am trying to get over something as well.  The ride back should be swift though based on the forcasted winds.

Deet, you're welcome to ride with me on the way back. I'd kinda like to hurry back to city after Polyanna. Although, I'm still 50/50 at this point, as I'm just getting over the stomach bug I've have all week.

I don't think I can join in for the full route. I might just ride with the group to Polyanna and then ride back to the city after that.

Sorry I will have to miss this. I have a couple of other events I need to attend.

We will stop at the 7-11 at the entrance of the I&M trail to stock up on snacks. From there it is be about 10 miles to Polyanna and 30 miles to Hailstorm.

At Hailstorm, we can order in delivery from Los 3 Burritos, a Mexican joint about a mile away. They will deliver and you pay the Hailstorm. Or we can stop and order some to go at an Italian restaurant nearby (although that hasn't been open any time I rode by there.)
